When creating your portfolio website, you can use photographs or print screens of your designs or artwork to present your skills to your prospective client. Almost everybody does that.
But there is a much better way to showcase your work.
Mockups.
It won't consume a lot more of your time than taking the screenshots but the results will look a way better than screenshots do.
To help you with your portfolio presentation, I've compiled 40 of my favourite free PSD poster mockups.
They will be great for your graphic and branding designs but also web designers can use them to present their work a bit differently.

Free Poster Design Mockup by Tim Easley
A truly great mockup by Tim Easley. It works with portrait, landscape or square images, and the PSD file is made the square at 2000 x 2000 pixels, so the images are compatible with the current square standard on many platforms.
It contains many variants, such as:
- Portrait with wood grain background, moustache clips, butcher's twine, folds and borders.
- Landscape with pegboard background, dark wood hanger, no folds and no border.
- Portrait with a plain dark background, various desk items, folds and borders.

I love Pixeden's work and I have been using their work for a long time now. This retro frame poster mockup contains a white-painted brick wall and a nice b&w frame. You can easily change the frame colour to match your project's colour scheme.
